Because it Seemed Like a Good Idea

Greetings again!  No pictures this time, just links.  Sorry!

So, I'm sure most of you are familiar with my sister because I link to her blog on a regular basis.  She's a fantastic knitter and she has that snarky, sarcastic sense of humor that I love.

She and I, we get along pretty well.  She makes me laugh and I continue to be her dorky little brother.  See where this is going?

No?

Well, over the summer she and I got to talking about starting our own podcast because, well, where else are you going to find a duo that covers different ages, genders, knitting styles, and climates?

So, months later, here it is: Our very first podcast episode!  It's actually so new that it's not up on iTunes yet, and our shownotes blog is still a work in progress, but I thought I'd let you all know anyway.  If there are any podcast listeners among you guys, I'd love to hear what you think.

(I must admit, I had no idea my Minnesotan accent was so strong!  I mean, people tell me so on a daily basis, but I sort of just thought they were crazy...)

I hope you enjoy it!

  1. Wait, they make fun of your accent in Wisconsin?!

I really want to see a pic of that pillow cover. :-)

  3. Good for you! I'll be sure to add you and follow along. :) I look forward to hearing what you come up with and I wish you both much success!

I've been batting around the idea for a year now (and hubs REALLY wants me to do it) but for some reason I am completely unable to figure Audible out, and... I get shy. I never thought I'd write, type, or even think that word in connection to me. Maybe next year?

  4. You never thought your accent was that bad, and I never knew I sounded like such a ditz. Maybe we need to take speech lessons before the next episode? ;-)

  5. You guys' podcast was great! I love the accent. Trust me it is not as bad as some that I have heard, although yours is a bit more pronounced than Diedre's. I was very excited to get mentioned in your first podcast, and you pronounced my name correctly (something some of my friends who have known me for years still are unable to do)! You are awesome!

  7. Immediately had a listen since I was already sitting down for Indulgent Blogging Time and primed to be entertained.

As I already told your sis...although not quite so consisely...this idea is fan-stinkin'-tastic. Love it, endearing accents and all. Sibling dynamics are fun. I say let it all hang out and hangers-on will flock.

  8. Peter,
It is so amazing, but you sound exactly like I thought you would [and so does your sister Deidre]. You both did an awesome job on your podcast! Your accent isn't that bad. It is definitely midwestern, but very nice. You speak very well, with clear diction and you use correct grammar. Also, I adore your laugh.

Let me tell you, as a musician myself, I always listen to the music on a movie and I always sit in the theatre until the last note is played. Music definitely makes the movie for me. Can you imagine Star Wars without good music? LOL... Anyway, I loved your comment.

I admire your career goals and I think both are achievable. Good luck with your grad school applications! Currently, I am investigating several Ph.D. programs and will need to start submitting applications soon for next year.
